Do you like keeping your cats " e.g Persian cat " indoors or want to let them outdoors ? Here are some advises about which is the best from them and how to keep your cat busy indoors
Advantages if keeping your cat indoors :
Depends on the cat and where you live. I'm in South Florida in the Everglades. We have panthers, bobcats, pythons, diamondback rattlesnakes, alligators, etc. We keep ours in for obvious reasons.
- Much safer as an indoor only cat. Plus the fact that he probably has a cottony coat, you won't have to worry about burrs and such getting worked into his coat since he does have a beautiful coat. You won't have to worry about fleas or ticks when they are indoor only cats. You won't have to worry about cars, coyotes or other predator type creatures to attach or kill your new baby.
- Indoor is definitely healthier and leads to longer lives.
- Indoor is best for Persians because there very different from "regular" cats but still animals! so SUPERVISED outside time for a few minutes it's OK, You can let your "regular" cat outside (sometimes) but Persian has never ever been outside alone, if you do take her outside she's with you every single minute..Regular cats know how to defend themselves!! Persian don't but regular cats sure do!
- Cats don’t need to be outside if they learn that inside is it, they won’t fuss. And it’s much safer! Provide lots of things to engage their catness .
- Like children, do what’s good for them, not what they want.
Ideas for keeping indoors and busy :
1- Is he only kitty? Maybe a companion to play with? e.g another cat .

Build one of those outside car houses. They are fully enclosed fenced in boxes that butt up against a window so they can be outside but not get lost, killed, infected, etc.

- Give your cats plenty of toys and attention and they make no effort to go out the door. Try a kitty video with birds on your t.v., Cats will love it and try to chase the birds. When a bird flies off the screen, they run around behind the t.v. looking for it. You can aslo leave windows open, those that are screened and they love to lay and watch the outside critters and sun bathe. They are safe and healthy and happy <3
- If your cat is always looking out the window, try putting a bird feeder near that window (if possible).

- You can let your out on the balcony and put a separate cat tree out there for him. He conducts neighborhood watch from there. He seriously loves it!
IF you have a fenced yard and you can let them go out for short periods of time BUT be always with them... always!! Too many things/reasons to let them out alone!!! They love their outside time but it is limited.
- Have a screened in porch and let them on in warm weather with supervision
