Dog Flu (Canine Influenza or CI) is A Viral highly contagious disease caused by the CIV virus (canine influenza), influenza type A virus.

3- Nasal secretions of infected dogs by coughing, sneezing or barking.

5- Cats also are susceptible for the virus and can transmit the infection also from cat to cat.
What are the signs of Dog Influenza?
Signs of canine influenza can include:
- Cough, Fever and nasal discharge.
- Eye discharge
- Off food.
- Lethargy.
- Signs of CI can range from mild symptoms to severe.
- Secondary bacterial infections may cause Pneumonia.
- Most Dogs recovers from canine influenza in 10-15 days.

Diagnosis of canine influenza infections in dogs:
- From Clinical Signs (Fever, cough, nasal discharge)
- Laboratory diagnosis and tests.

Treatment of Canine Influenza :
- There is no specific treatment for Canine Influenza.
-Symptomatic treatment of fever.
- Supportive intravenous treatment.
- Antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infections.

- Isolation of infected dogs and avoid their contact with healthy dogs.
- Isolation of any dog that show signs of respiratory disease.
