5 Mistakes TO Stop Making With Cat Training
1. Overestimating how much time training takes.
Many cat breeders think that cat take a lot of effort band time to be trained ... and this is wrong . Cats take a little time to be trained and it could be done easily , in fact it can take from 1-5 minutes to be trained , and you do not need to free your time to do that , you can do it while waiting someone , drinking coffee or watching tv .
All what i mean is that in your spare time you can do this .
Many cat breeders may encourage cat to do something bad by they behavior... for example when cat scratch in his scratching post you might take it into consideration but when he scratches in the sofa or any other needed material you might through him by shoes or remove him by your hand . this gives your cat attention that when he scratches the sofa you will give him attention . You had to do the opposite when your cat do something right encourage him and play with him and while cat making bad things you had to show ignorance or redirect him
Give your cat praise and petting when he uses his scratching post; when he scratches the sofa, redirect him and reward him once he’s scratching in the right place.
3. Attempting to eliminate instinctive behaviors.
There are many habits in cats that we might see it as it unacceptable as chewing , jumping and clawing .... and it is not very easy to get rid of these habits and a lot of effort might be unsuccessful.... You can redirect your cat to the best places like garden where it can jump , chew and claw .
4. Expecting your cat to listen without training.
Also you have to teach your cat your language .. Cat will not understand you when you say words like " off " , " stop" , " No " instead you have to learn your cat and train him on these meaning easily by rewarding him every time the cat responds to you correctly ....
Do not use violence to teach him , instead you can give him rewards or ignorance ... by this method you cat train your cat " go to bed " " go out " " urinate in bathroom "
5. Setting unrealistic training goals.
Be careful in training your cat , use easy steps like baby learning .
Do not train him excessive or in exaggerated manner as it may make your cat frustrated
But you can put small goals to train in your cat ... and concentrate on it again and again untill it is clear for your cat.
